Tilingia holopetala

Propagation: Seed - we have no information for this species but suggest sowing the seed in a cold frame in late winter or early spring. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and grow them on in the greenhouse for their first winter. Plant them out into their permanent positions in late spring or early summer, after the last expected frosts.

Division might be possible.

Cultivation: We have very little information on this species and do not know if it will be hardy in Britain, though judging by its native range it should succeed outdoors in most parts of the country. See the plants native habitat for ideas on its cultivation needs.

Range: E. Asia - Japan.

Habitat: Grassy places in mountains, C. and N. Japan[1].

Edibility: Leaves and young plant - usually cooked[2][3].

Pollinators: Insects

Soil: Can grow in light, medium, and heavy soils.

Drainage: Prefers well drained soil.

Flower Type: Hermaphrodite

Also Known As: Ligusticum holopetalum. (Maxim.)Hiroe.&Const.
