Propagation: Seed - sow spring in situ.

Cultivation: We have very little information on this species and do not know if it will be hardy in Britain, though judging by its native range it should succeed outdoors in many parts of this country.

It dislikes shade, see the plants native range for other ideas on its cultivation needs.

Range: Europe to E. Asia.

Habitat: Maritime or, more rarely, continental solonchaks[1]. Saline and alkaline soils of beaches ad lakeshores in northern China[2].

Edibility: Leaves - raw or cooked[3]. A salty flavour.

Soil: Can grow in light, medium, and heavy soils.

Wind: Tolerates maritime wind exposure
