Propagation: Seed - sow spring in situ.
Cultivation: We have very little information on this species and do not know if it will be hardy in Britain, though judging by its native range it should succeed outdoors in many parts of this country. It is cultivated as a vegetable in China[1].

Range: E. Asia - China, Japan, Korea and Siberia.
Habitat: Saline meadows, solonchaks, sandy and pebbly seashores, refuse dumps and waste ground[2].
Edibility: Leaves and young shoots - raw or cooked[1]. A salty flavour.

Soil: Can grow in light, medium, and heavy soils.
Wind: Tolerates maritime wind exposure
