Solanum kurzii
Propagation: Seed - sow early spring in a warm greenhouse. When the plants are large enough to handle, prick them out into individual pots. Plant out after the last expected frosts.
Cultivation: We have very little information on this species and do not know if it will be hardy in Britain, though judging by its native range it could succeed outdoors at least in the milder parts of this country. The following notes are based on the general needs of the genus.
Succeeds in most soils[1].
Range: E. Asia - Himalayas.
Edibility: Fruit - cooked[2].
Soil: Can grow in light, medium, and heavy soils.
Flower Type: Hermaphrodite
Known Hazards: Although no specific mention of toxicity has been seen for this species, it belongs to a genus where many if not all the members have poisonous leaves and sometimes also the unripe fruits.
