Scutellaria barbata (common name: barbed skullcap)
Cultivation: 238351
Range: E. Asia - China, Japan, Korea.
Habitat: Fertile and moist areas along the margins of rice paddy fields, streamsides and wet grasslands to 2,000 metres[1][2].
Medicinal: Used as a detoxicant, mainly in the treatment of certain types of cancer, liver diseases, pharyngitis and poisonous bites[3].
Depurative, diuretic, febrifuge[1].
The juice of the plant is applied to wounds[4].
Soil: Can grow in light, medium, and heavy soils.
Seed Ripens: Early Summer-Late Summer
