Propagation: Seed - sow spring or autumn in situ. Germination usually takes place within 2 - 3 weeks at 15°c[1].
Cultivation: We have virtually no information on this species or its hardiness in Britain, though judging by its native range it is likely to succeed outdoors in most parts of the country. It is usually an annual plant, though is sometimes a short-lived perennial[2]. It is likely to succeed in an acid or calcareous sandy or gritty well-drained soil in a sunny position.
Range: E. Asia - China, Japan, Korea and Mongolia.
Habitat: River banks, moist areas, grasslands, and railroad embankments from near sea level to 2500 metres[2].
Edibility: Leaves - cooked[3][4].
Pollinators: Bees, flies, beetles, self
Soil: Can grow in light, medium, and heavy soils.
Drainage: Prefers well drained soil.
Seed Ripens: Late Spring-Late Fall
