Propagation: Seed - we have no information on this species but suggest sowing the seed in a cold frame as soon as it is ripe if this is possible otherwise in early spring. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and plant them out in the summer.
Cultivation: We have very little information on this species and do not know if it will be hardy in Britain, though judging by its native range it should succeed outdoors in most parts of this country. The following notes are based on the general needs of the genus.
An easily grown plant, it succeeds in any moisture-retentive soil in a sunny position[1].
Suitable for group plantings in the wild garden[1].
Range: E. Asia - China, Japan, Siberia.
Habitat: Meadows, shrubs, pine and broad-leaved forests and stony slopes[2].
Edibility: Leaves - cooked[3].
