Range: South-western N. America - California to Arizona and Mexico.

Habitat: Desert washes below 600 metres[1].

Edibility: Seed - raw or cooked[2][3][4][5]. A similar taste to peanuts[6].

Usage: Wood - very hard, it can blunt a saw[5].

Soil: Can grow in light, medium, and heavy soils.
