Oenanthe peucidanifolia
Propagation: Seed - sow spring in a cold frame. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and plant them out in the summer.
Division in spring or autumn.
Cultivation: We have very little information on this species and do not know if it will be hardy in Britain, though judging by its native range it should succeed outdoors in most parts of the country. The following notes are based on the general needs of the genus.
Requires a wet fertile soil and a sunny position.
Range: Europe to W. Asia.
Habitat: Wet grassland[1].
Edibility: Root[2]. The fleshy tubercles have occasionally been eaten[3][4]. Some caution is advised, see the notes above on toxicity.

Known Hazards: Although no specific mention of toxicity has been seen for this species, it belongs to a genus that contains a number of very poisonous plants and so some caution is advised[K]. It is said to contain the alleged 'psychotroph' myristicine[5].
