Leichhardtia leptophylla (common name: milk vine)

Propagation: Seed

Cultivation: We have very little information on this species and do not know if it will succeed outdoors in Britain, though judging by its native range if it is hardy then it is only likely to be so in the mildest areas of the country. The plant is likely to require a warm, very sunny position and a well-drained soil.

Range: Australia - Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Northern Territories.

Habitat: Open forest and scrub[1].

Edibility: Fruit - cooked[2]. it is usually roasted and the seeds are sometimes rejected[2]. The ovoid fruit is 4 - 8cm long[1].

Soil: Can grow in light, medium, and heavy soils.

Flower Type: Hermaphrodite
