Gentiana clausa (common name: bottle gentian) is a perennial forb native to the Northeastern region of North America.

Seeds

The fertilized flowers produce a seed capsule that splits when mature to release many small flattened brown seeds. The seeds have no pappus but are light enough to disperse in the wind. Seeds need light for germination plus 60 days of cold stratification.[1]

There are approximately 280,000 seeds per ounce.[1]
