Formaldehyde

Formaldehyde (also called methanal) is a flammable and toxic chemical compound that at room temperature is a colorless gas with a strong smell. It is a biocide and used mainly as a disinfectant, but can also be used to make dyes, wrinkle-free textiles, preservatives, explosives, and polymers.
