Elsholtzia splendens (common name: shiny elsholtzia)
Propagation: Seed - sow late spring in situ[1].
Cultivation: An easily grown plant, it succeeds in most soils.
Range: E. Asia - northern China, Korea.
Habitat: Grassy areas in mountains in Korea[2]. Hills and grassy areas at elevations up to 300 metres in China[3].
Medicinal: The whole plant contains an essential oil , monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes[2]. It is used in Korea in the treatment of headaches, fevers, diarrhoea and oedema[2].

Soil: Can grow in light, medium, and heavy soils.
Flower Type: Hermaphrodite
