Cultivation: We have very little information on this species and do not know if it will be hardy in Britain, though judging by its native range it could succeed outdoors at least in the mildest areas of the country[K].
This species has at times mistakenly been called Dichondra repens, a plant that is confined to New Zealand and Australia[1].
Range: E. Asia - China, Japan and Korea.
Habitat: Around dwellings and roadsides in lowland warmer areas of Central and Southern Japan[2]. Grasslands on mountain slopes and roadsides at elevations of 1300 - 2000 metres in China[1].
Medicinal: Diuretic, febrifuge and styptic[3]. The whole plant is used for treating diarrhoea[1].
Soil: Can grow in light, medium, and heavy soils.
Flower Type: Hermaphrodite
