Descurainia antarctica
Propagation: Seed - sow spring in situ.
Cultivation: We have very little information on this species but it should succeed as a spring-sown annual in Britain. See the plants native habitat for ideas on its cultivation needs.
Range: Southern S. America.
Habitat: Sand and gravel beaches, sandstone cliffs, saline flats in Lepidophyllum scrub to 20 metres above sea-level and north to latitude 40° 30' south[1].
Edibility: Seed - raw or cooked. It can be ground into a meal and used with cereal powders in making bread etc[1].

Soil: Can grow in light and medium soils.
Drainage: Prefers well drained soil.
Wind: Tolerates maritime wind exposure
Seed Ripens: Late Summer-Early Fall
Flower Type: Hermaphrodite
