Cymopterus purpureus
Range: Western N. America.
Habitat: Dry ground, 1200 - 2100 metres in Colorado and Utah to New Mexico and Arizona.
Edibility: Leaves - cooked[1][2][3][4]. Used as a potherb to season soups etc[4].
Soil: Can grow in light, medium, and heavy soils.
Flower Type: Hermaphrodite
