Acid

An acid is a substance that easily loses hydrogen ions to other substances. A weak acid hole loses some of their hydrogen ions while stronger acids lose most or all of them.

Acids have values below 7.0 on the pH scale. Weak acids are within the 4 to 6 range and a strong acid is within the 1 to 3 range.
