Phalaris minor (common name: small canary grass)
Propagation: Seed - sow spring in situ[1].
Cultivation: An easily grown plant, succeeding in an ordinary garden soil[2]. It is tolerant of most conditions, dry or wet[3].
Range: Europe - Mediterranean to northwest France. Naturalized, or perhaps native, in the Channel Islands.
Habitat: Sandy soils[4].
Edibility: Seed - cooked[5]. The seed can be ground into a flour and used in making bread, cakes etc. It is rather small and fiddly to utilize.
Pollinators: Wind
Soil: Can grow in light, medium, and heavy soils.
