Eriophyton wallichii (common name: mian shen)

Range: E. Asia - Himalayas in Tibet, Nepal, India and W. China.

Habitat: Alpine, stony alluvial fans at elevations of 2700 - 4700 metres[1].

Medicinal: The entire plant is used in Tibetan medicine, it is said to have a sweet taste and a cooling potency[2]. Anti-inflammatory and febrifuge, it dries up pus and joins cut nerves/vessels[2]. It is used in the treatment of inflammation of the lungs, pus in the lungs, inflammations of wounds/sores and cut nerves/blood vessels[2].

Soil: Can grow in light, medium, and heavy soils.
